Troutdale.....Gateway to the Gorge. This street is the picturesque old shopping area. The necessary box stores are about two miles away. This is the boutique and restaurant area that attracts visitors. It's very appealing.
The car show, put on by the Kiwanis Club, was on both sides of the street for about 4 blocks plus some side streets.
We FINALLY found our moose! Never mind that he was metal and stationary. If we can't find a warm-blooded one we'll take this guy.
I didn't think anyone would want to look at a string of car pictures (other than a couple of friends.....there was a very nice Austin-Healey, JB), but I got this one because it was special. This is a 1968 Camaro like the one Jim bought when he got back from Vietnam in late 1967. Well, not quite like it....his was yellow with a bumble bee stripe....but it's still the same car. The old cars bring back a lot of memories and hearing the oldies the DJ's were playing was as good as seeing the cars.
One last picture.....not exactly in the classic car category. The bike in front was there because it was for sale. It's the personal hand-built street bike of the Harley Nitro Fuel Pro-dragster 2000 National Champion. Very impressive.
We never did make it to Portland. The car show was all we could do for the day (except having to get groceries). Jim's come down with a cold and we're both worn out so we decided to forego the 45 mile round trip to the city. We may yet be able to squeeze it in tomorrow.
